I really LOVE Nigeria. Everytime I go, I see such drastic changes. It shows that the government is actually starting to get things done... Well... I can't really talk about the federal government, but Lagos State Gov is really doing Big things. I actually think many state leaders are taking things into their own hands. Good job Fashola, and other governors in other states that are taking things to the next level. My august trip to Lagos was really cool. I was able to take care of business, volunteer work, and other stuff. But the most lasting thing in my mind was the improvements in Lagos.
It's looking cleaner.
It's looking brighter.
Traffic is still bad, but some roads are getting better.
There's more to do as a tourist
There is still frustration, but less than before.
I feel the mentality is changing too... people are thinking differently and it shows as you interact with new people.
Anyway it was such a positive trip and I'm ready to go back!... Slowly the transition continues!!!
Here are pics of the changes I saw... I will post Aug 2009 pics, April 2009 pics, and 2006 pics just so you see the difference.

This is the diary of a Gidi Girl or one in the making. I may be a Nigerian girl in America now, but my hopes and dreams take me to Nigeria; Lagos to be specific. I don’t know how or when I’m going to get there, but I will! Follow me on my journey which hopefully should lead me back to Lagos, Nigeria aka Las Gidi. Fasten your seatbelts Ladies and Gentlemen, it may be a bumpy ride!!!!!
