(my spelling and grammar are bad today so please forgive what you are about to read)
So I had the most amazing weekend. It was definately a high flying one. I treated myself without a doubt. I bought a fabo pair of CD flamingo red peep toe pumps, a DG leopard print pump with gold embellishment and a pair of stuart weitzman over the knee leather boots, which i have already broken in.
I definately popped champaign! I am really reeling from my Naija experience and my dedication to be more open and try new things. That being said, I did enjoy the maddening of a long island icetea , the sleepiness of reisling, and yes, like I said there was definately champaign flowing. I actually felt nice. Maybe Im a goodie two-shoes or prude, but no more... hehehe The feeling at first is a little worrysome cuz i love control and you seem somewhat out of control and free. I was freely speaking my mind, but the positive thing was that I felt more relaxed and less self-conscious.
I actually made a few new friends. I was introduced to people that i really enjoyed from the begining! I'm usually reserved and dont follow through with getting to know people, though pretty friendly, but these people really won me over. I felt comfortable with them and they felt like they were right up my alley(cul-de-sac or avenue sound nicer).
Oh and I went on a date... was actually relaxing and nice. I am shy sometimes, but i felt like i was on a date with myself. was amazing. We went to see book of eli. reviews were on opposite ends of the spectrum. some gave it A+ but seemed to be clearly religious, other gave an F-... almost a Z, but they were maybe agnostic and seemed so offended by the christian overtones. I LOVED the movie. It was something that really spoke to me. Maybe because I am religeous, but it made me ask myself, what am i really willing to do for you faith, how far am i willing to go for my God because he's willing to GO the distance for me. I also was thankful for the mercies and miracles that he performs each day.
Anyway weekend was fun. week started out slow, but of course has been rising in pace. I finally put myself on a darn schedule. I programmed it into my blackberry with alarms and all. so far i have partially stuck to it. maybe the rest of the week will be more committed.
Happy Hump Day Lovlies!
This is the diary of a Gidi Girl or one in the making. I may be a Nigerian girl in America now, but my hopes and dreams take me to Nigeria; Lagos to be specific. I don’t know how or when I’m going to get there, but I will! Follow me on my journey which hopefully should lead me back to Lagos, Nigeria aka Las Gidi. Fasten your seatbelts Ladies and Gentlemen, it may be a bumpy ride!!!!!
