Its that season....

Tis the season to be jolly... lol not because of Christmas, because of SHOPPING! Its gown season aka prom season, aka gala season. Every woman from age 16 to 69 is looking for that dress. You know the one. That dress that says, Va-voom! The problem is, as a woman, you will probably wear that dress you find one time after paying $200 or more dollars for it. I'm sure the guys are shaking their head right now, but YES, our credit cards are like a man's ..... lol it takes over our brain and thinks for us sometimes.

Anyway back to dresses. I found a great place in Philadelphia where you can get dresses, evening gowns, and cocktail dresses for at least $30. It's called Group USA at the Franklin Mills Mall.

I first went there with my mom and little sister, who is headed to the prom! My little baby is headed to the prom. *tears of joy* She told me about this place, so we get there and it is a gown oasis/bridal heaven. This place specializes in wedding, prom, pageant dresses and they are GOOOOOOOD! My sister, who I thought had no fashion sense what so ever went to the sale rack and picked out the most gorgeous gowns all under $100 after all the sale discounts. I was like " You go girl!!!!"

So now I had to get a dress for the Nigerian Healthcare Foundation's Faces of Hope Gala. I literally waited until the morning of the event to find a dress and I found the perfect dress and it was under $50! Say what?! Yes! under $50!!!

Okay... rewind... When I got to the store, I was seeing dresses for $300, $400, $800, $200, $130, etc. I was feeling a little discouraged. But then I found the sales rack tucked away and though Im not the one to sift through racks, I sucked it up and found all sorts of size 2 and 4 goodies. I tried 6 dresses on. Some fit my waist, but not my big bussoms, some fit my bussoms but not my waist. Some where too short, some where not my fav color. I tried on 6 more, and the same thing. There were just so many. It was a sea of dresses, but then somehow I learned the dress language. I started seeing patterns on the dresses in terms of size and brand. I then strategically picked and found the heaven sent six... all of them fit me so well. The store was about to close and I found the dress I wanted, and I thought it was for $150, but when I got to the register... it went from $150 to $75 to under $50... I almost fainted. Anyway I was beaming all the way to the car.  So now I know my magic spot, that last minute place where I can find my saving dress. I am ready for whatever events come my way.
