So I went to eat brunch at this cute little Cuban restaurant. Cuba Libre in Old City! All I can say is "fabulous"!
When we walked in, there was no wait time, but the venue has an upstairs with balcony seating, and a downstairs. Their Sunday Brunch menu is not that extensive, but the things on there seem amazing. Out waiter wasn't Hispanic, he was Parisian, but he was great, friendly and prompt.
I ordered a drink sampler. It is a 6 sample set of assorted fresh made juices such as guava, mango, lilo, guabana, etc. I don't know what all I was drinking, but it was refreshing with flavors I haven't tasted in a long time. For my meal, I ordered this Almond encrusted stuffed french toast. It was really yummy, but before it came out, the waiter let us munch on cuban flat bread with mango butter. I really need to learn how to make mango butter. It tasted soooo good. So when my almond french toast came out, I lopped on the mango butter. LOL.
Anyway here is a picture of the delectable dish.
This is the diary of a Gidi Girl or one in the making. I may be a Nigerian girl in America now, but my hopes and dreams take me to Nigeria; Lagos to be specific. I don’t know how or when I’m going to get there, but I will! Follow me on my journey which hopefully should lead me back to Lagos, Nigeria aka Las Gidi. Fasten your seatbelts Ladies and Gentlemen, it may be a bumpy ride!!!!!

SEPTA LOVE
This might sound crazy to say, but Im taking public transportation in philly today and it feels so good. I haven't taken a philadelphia bus or subway in a long time. The last time I took it, I was in undergrad. Now I'm all grown up and ofcourse though I used to the metro in dc, philly is a different story. Here, I'm in the suburbs of course where everyone drives every where and I hate it quite frankly. The traffic, pot holes, retarded drivers, cops. You name it, philly has got it on their roads. So taking a break from the organized chaos is refreshing. I get to sit on this bus, in air conditioning, warding the scenery, the water front, boat house row, the city skyline, and funny enough I don't notice that we are in traffic or that people are brainless zombies on the road. Plus I'm lowering my carbon footprint. Ah...life is good.
